Teamwork, community and a shared love of thoroughbreds is what drives Wild Hearts thoroughbred adoption society. There are many ways you can contribute that will have a profound impact on racehorses coming off the track and on Wild Hearts ability to continue to provide a safe, stable and beautiful transition for these magnificent horses as they are matched with their forever home. Our longer term vision and goal includes creating lifelong sanctuary (learn more and become part of it HERE!).

VOLUNTEER
Consider volunteering some time to Wild Hearts! You’ll meet some great people and have an opportunity to interact with our extraordinary horses and team of professionals.
We have many opportunities for individuals who are not hands-on horse people as well! Volunteers are needed for administrative duties, fundraising, and staffing at various events. If you have time and a special skill to share please get in touch.

Consider leaving a LEGACY of CARING
Each of us leaves a legacy behind. This legacy represents the values that we stood for in life and shares what we felt was important beyond ourselves. If you choose Wild Hearts as one of your beneficiaries, you are leaving a legacy of love, care and compassion for thoroughbreds 'after the races'.
Imagine a lush, green haven where retired thoroughbred racehorses who are no longer able to enter into a second career as a rideable horse can roam freely, bask in sunlight, and live out their days with the love, attention, and veterinary care they need. These horses give their all for our enjoyment at the racetrack. Now it's our turn to give back and ensure they are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve in retirement.
Wild Hearts works with caring owners and trainers to properly transition retiring thoroughbreds who are able to enter a second riding career either with no limitations, or at least in some capacity (at minimum flatwork, following any required rehabilitation). Inevitably, however, there is a population who are deemed 'pasture sound only'. Over the years we have seen the lack of homes seeking pasture sound only and it is from this absolute need for quality thoroughbred sanctuary that this as become one of our longer term goals. Providing life long sanctuary and all that entails is an entirely different endeavor requiring a specific facility (much more land, and ideally, the charities ability to buy its own land!) and much greater funding than is required for organizations like ours providing rehabilitations and adoptions.
