Adopt A Horse
The following horses are currently available for adoption or are in training and will be available in the near future! We are welcoming new horses all the time who may not be listed. It is recommended that you become pre-approved for when a right match does become available. We highly recommend reviewing all of the FAQs prior to connecting, to ensure that adoption is the right path for you.
All adoption fees are below market value, all horses follow AAEP thoroughbred transitioning protocols, are adopted out with all teeth, vaccines and routine vet care up to date, and have been gently restarted on their ground and under saddle work. All horses also undergo a baseline intake veterinary exam, as well as have any known limitations (re) x-rayed and/or ultrasound, and provided to potential adopters. We do not x-ray and ultrasound every horses legs and back, and welcome and encourage pre-purchase exams. We operate at a loss on every horse to facilitate the mission of aftercare, proper placement, keeping a radar on the horse, and supporting adopters if a horse turns out NOT to be the right fit. For this reason, adoption fees are not negotiable, we do not pay for pre-purchase exams, and it is assumed that adopters are either experienced with green/young horses (to continue bringing them along), or, are committed to the time, energy and cost associated with hiring a professional trainer.

"Moose" is the cuddliest, most in your pocket type guy! A gentle giant, Moose retired in 2022 after 33 lifetime starts. Moose arrived end of last racing season, had the winter off to be a horse before beginning his retraining on the ground and under saddle. He is currently W/T/C under saddle. He will be looking for a forever home and partner who will be his best friend, take him on trail rides and enjoy dressage or flatwork and that casual family farm life type living. "Mr. Beauman" will become the light of your life! He is the most personable, gentle, sweet boy you'll ever meet. He did suffer a carpal fracture which has healed, but will preclude him from being adopted to a home with competitive aspirations that include jumping, barrels or heavy type work. He is looking for a flat work only home (W/T/C), someone who is interested in liberty, and a bit of trail riding. He is currently in a consistent training program. Cat will make you do a double take! She is a tall girl with incredibly unique features (she has one "grey" leg and grey mixed into her beautiful bay coat). She has beautiful big, inquisitive eyes and is very curious and brave for such a young, newly retired racehorse. She has no vices and zero limitations so the sky is the limit for this girl. Her first farrier appt had our farrier going on about how wonderful her feet are as well (it typically takes a few cycles to transition feet off the track and she's already got great angles and strong feet!) This stunning, still bum high 4 year old handsome gelding is doing fabulously in his consistent training program. He has learned to stand at the mounting block, wait patiently for tying/grooming/feet/tacking, and is going w/t/c under saddle.
As a still maturing guy, and one who is on the hotter side of the spectrum, Ricky will require a confident, experienced handler and rider who is looking to keep him in consistent (but enriching and fun!) program.
*Mithrix is one in-your-pocket kinda guy! This special gelding has been all over the place. Bred in Kentucky, he made his way to Tampa Bay, Florida before heading all the way up to beautiful BC, where he began training at Hastings racetrack. *Ricky completed rehabilitation for a sesamoid fracture and has been cleared without any limitations resulting from this injury. We have imaging taken throughout each rehab and these are available to interested adopters.

'Charlie' is a strikingly handsome young gelding who epitomizes 'in your pocket'. He'll follow you around, loves to get scratches and be part of whatever is going on. While registered at dark bay, he looks like Black Beauty in person, with a big presence and lovely natural movement. He will be having his vet assessment as well as begin slow entry into his structured weekly sessions with his trainer and we will update his profile over the weeks to come. While Charlie does not have any acute injuries, his owner thoughtfully retired him ahead of racing (though he was in race training), as he was showing he wasn't going to be up for the job. He has some bony changes that will preclude him from a heavy sport workload.
