Adopt A Horse
The following horses are currently available for adoption or are in training and will be available in the future! We are welcoming new horses all the time who may not be listed. It is recommended that you become pre-approved for when a right match does become available. We highly recommend reviewing all of the FAQs prior to connecting, to ensure that adoption is the right path for you.
All adoption fees are below market value, all horses follow AAEP thoroughbred transitioning protocols, are adopted out with all teeth, vaccines and routine vet care up to date, and have been gently restarted on their ground and under saddle work. All horses also undergo a baseline intake veterinary exam, as well as have any known limitations (re) x-rayed and/or ultrasound, and provided to potential adopters. We do not x-ray and ultrasound every horses legs and back, and welcome and encourage pre-purchase exams. We operate at a loss on every horse to facilitate the mission of aftercare, proper placement, keeping a radar on the horse, and supporting adopters if a horse turns out NOT to be the right fit. For this reason, adoption fees are not negotiable, we do not pay for pre-purchase exams, and it is assumed that adopters are either experienced with green/young horses (to continue bringing them along), or, are committed to the time, energy and cost associated with hiring a professional trainer.

Blaze in undergoing the initial stages of his AAEP transitioning. More updates on him will be

Blaze retired due to being unable to keep up with the heavy training demands of race training and presented muscle soreness which prompted his connections to make the decision to retire him as he wasn't cut out to be a racehorse. While we anticipate he will have no known limitations in his second career, he needs extra time to strengthen his feet and just mature mentally and physically for his best future. Blaze had his inital intake vet exam and due to his transitioning feet it has been decided to hold off beginning his retraining until he is moving more comfortably.

Sharpzan (aka 'Charlie 2', 'Zannie') is a gentle and relatively easy going guy and has progressed much more quickly in his let down than the average transition period required. He is already standing at mounting block, is w/t/c under saddle, has perfected his lunging in both directions, and will be beginning his trail experience/miles over the weeks to come. He retired without any acute injury or requiring rehab, and simply because he was getting green splints from the heavy training. With continued, consistent training we feel he will excel in any direction at a mid/higher level. Experienced homes or those working with support to continue his training will be considered. Cat will make you do a double take! She is a tall girl with incredibly unique features (she has one "grey" leg and grey mixed into her beautiful bay coat). She has beautiful big, inquisitive eyes and is very curious and brave for such a young, newly retired racehorse. She has no vices and zero limitations so the sky is the limit for this girl. Her first farrier appt had our farrier going on about how wonderful her feet are as well (it typically takes a few cycles to transition feet off the track and she's already got great angles and strong feet!) Charlie is a strikingly handsome young gelding who’s as friendly as they come — the true definition of “in your pocket.” He loves to be part of the action, happily follows you around the paddock, and soaks up every bit of attention and scratching he can get. Registered as a dark bay, he looks nearly black in person — sleek, eye-catching, and full of presence, with an elegant, fluid way of moving.
Retired thoughtfully by his owner before his first start, Charlie simply wasn’t destined for the intensity of a racing career — but he’s since filled out beautifully and proven himself to be a sound, sturdy young horse ready to shine in a second career. Like many young Thoroughbreds coming off the track, he shows some mild, well-settled changes that have fully solidified. His legs are cold and tight, and he’s cleared for full work.
Charlie could easily enjoy a bit of everything — from flatwork and hacking to low-level jumping or dressage — and we think he’ll truly thrive in a home that values variety and connection over a high-intensity schedule. He’s a lovely mover, a pleasure to handle, and the kind of horse who will make his person feel lucky every day.

He’s the kind who loves to stay active and engaged but thrives most with a program that allows him to do a little bit of everything — from flatwork and hacking to light schooling and adventures off-property.
While Rodger has drawn a lot of attention for his athletic build and lovely movement, we’re thoughtful about ensuring each horse finds the right long-term match. ‘Sloop’, ‘Sloopy’, ‘Snoopy’, ‘Johnny’ — a man of many names, it’s none other than the handsome Sloop John B. This stunning chestnut gelding has a ton of presence and a sweet personality to boot!
Sloop was retired with great care by his connections and came to us ready to begin retraining right away. Sound, sensible, and with no vices, he’s a wonderful example of a horse whose future has been thoughtfully considered.
He is a recent arrival, but due to not requiring any time off, he is already beginning his structured program with one of our Wild Hearts professional trainers. As we near the end of our operating season—when horses are turned out for the winter and meet-and-greets pause until early spring—we’ll be structuring his short time before winter in a way best suited to his long-term success.
